Ah, boredom strikes again after that amazing international trip and your back home….just to be self-quarantined!? Isolation at its finest! But I am sure this is no issue for the introverts (like me), but what about the extroverts that crave socializing 24/7 (also me) ? Plus there are those stuck in the house from country or state emergencies, temporarily laid off, and refuse to go outside.
So I decided to give you some ideas of activities to do if you are self-quarantined, alone, or stuck in the house…
1. Catch Up on EVERY Movie, Show, Anime & Youtube Video

Who doesn’t love a series you missed out on because of work and school? It makes my heart flutter to binge watch like my life depends on it. Its even better when you have a smart tv to watch Youtube videos of millions and millions of people all over the world. (and think of all the debates you can do once this coronavirus is finished with)
Create your own home theater with popcorn, candy and completely in the dark watching funny movies, shows, or videos to keep you sane.
2. Arts & Crafts – DIY

Think of all of those plants that needs to be re-potted, the rooms that could use a different coat of paint, the art creations you never have time to execute or even a DIY that has been on your mind! There are so many content creators that are giving out art courses online and free videos on the web to ignite that fire of creativity.
Some ideas to try are:
- Painting
- Drawing
- Scrap-booking
- Working with a new medium like charcoal, pastels, ink, digital application, color pencil etc.
- Basket Weaving
- Knitting or Crocheting
- Sewing / Designing
- Art Research
- Gardening/Landscaping
- Backyard or Indoor photography (make a home video, photo shoot)
- DIY home decor or projects
3. Reorganize Your Life

We all have that moment of mind-clutter, disorganization of self, and limiting beliefs of your goals. But this may be the only chance you have to change that about yourself. Try out some of these ideas:
- Clean your space
- List your aspirations, vision, or long term goals
- Vision board or mind map
- Create the next steps to achieving those goals
- Learn a new skill online or on your own (cooking, drawing, finance etc.)
- Start a blog, online business, or website
- Eat healthier
- Catch up on finances
- Update your resume/linkedin
- Literally Organize your home (rearrange furniture, diy decorations, cleaning etc.)
4. Self Care

My absolute favorite daily activity! Let’s create a better self and care for ourselves always. Try out some new ideas like mediation, yoga, bubble baths, or face masks! Order some fun beauty products on amazon to tryout for yourself or even do some indoor exercises to tone up that bod! Sleep and relaxation is all well and good for the mind, body and soul (trust me).
5. Ultimate Gaming !

It is time to finally bring out those board games collecting dust in your basement. If you are stuck with a bored family, partner, or just yourself, utilize what you have access to for some gaming entertainment. Make it a big competition and who ever lose has to do a chore or eat something they dislike the most!
Such as:
- Puzzles
- Sudoku
- Card games like Solitaire, Uno, Spades, Black Jack etc.
- Chess & Checkers
- Connect 4
- Board games like Monopoly, Sorry, Clue etc.
- Mancala
- Hot Potato
- Wii, Xbox 1, PS4, Nintendo Handheld games
- Toys with the kids
- Computer Games, y8.com, shockwave.com, origin.com, or gaming apps.
- DIY craft games for the family to enjoy
6. Have A Party !

Okay, not the type of party you’re thinking of, but a small house party with just the people you live with or trust. Bake a cake with the kids, buy or make some fancy drinks, cook up some delicious food and play some music ! If you’re self-quarantined, make your own party and video chat your friends and family and celebrate together! Maybe even go live on your social media while your at it to bring the joy to others suffering as well.
Enjoy the time you have with yourself and with the ones you care about during this time. Be cautious and appreciate all that you have. Try find a way to celebrate with them, that is what a party is to me.
7. Social Media Takeover

People all over the world will most likely be on all forms of social media platforms and may even resort back to old sites they abandoned back in the day. Unfortunately, with the coronavirus hitting different places globally, more and more people have to stay at home.
This is the time to take advantage of social media and build your content, your brand and yourself. Everyone is searching for a way to keep themselves entertained, new ideas and things to do while stuck in a big ole rut. Utilize your computer or phone and update your profiles, start some fun posts and reorganize your brand and be active.
8. Catch up

Hey, don’t forget about your friends you neglected for some time, thanks to your busy life! Remember your favorite cousin you haven”t seen in a bit? Why not just pick up the phone and talk to them about whats going on? Share your views on how COVID-19 is affecting your everyday life, or maybe even the benefits of slowing down thanks to the virus. You can video chat, text or call your friends and family. Start a new or old connection and make it stronger.
9. Reading is Fun-damental

“But I thought instagram captions counted as reading?” of course not! Read some funny stories, comics series, or independent content from Webtoon.com or blog apps. I know you have some books collecting your life that you pass by all the time, just read it. Its the best way to past time, gain knowledge and feel empowered when accomplishing.
Stuff to Read:
- This Blog and other creators
- Research articles
- Reviews
- Online Books, Physical books
- Manga
- Comics
- Newspaper (maybe)
- Magazines/online magazines
- Skill books (how to, for dummies, etc.
- Mystery/Scary books
- Reddit, Quora, Tumblr, Wix, Squarespace, WordPress sites for more blogs & intresting facts.
- Gross college books
10. Self-Reflection

Start a journal or diary and write about yourself or ways to improve yourself. Think about who you are and if you want to make an impact. Surround yourself with people you love and activities you benefit from in the process. Make a sharing space online or find a space to achieve your process. There are plenty of groups on the web to connect with if you are feeling out of place or can’t take the heat from the impact of this virus. Go outside into your backyard or porch to get some sunlight into your system and meditate on your day or even pray. Reflect on your journey and reflect on steps to take for your future.
Thank you so much for reading and stay safe! Enjoy yourself and have fun with everything you do.
